Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common causes of joint pain affecting adults over the age of 45. Knee OA is the most common type of OA that results in the inflammation of the knee joint. Pain, Stiffness, swelling, and decreased range of motion (ROM) are common symptoms of Knee OA.

Knee pain can increase with activity and settle with rest, promoting a more sedentary lifestyle. But, it is important to ensure that you balance your periods of rest and activity. Adequate daily walking can be a great way to maintain/increase muscle bulk, maintain knee ROM, and decrease swelling. Avoiding prolonged positions, such as sitting, can also help to reduce stiffness and swelling in the knee.
